Blussh Romance Festival Director, Sue-Anne Chapman said,
“More romance films are being made, and romance books being written, in Brisbane than anywhere else in Australia. And this is how Blussh Romance Festival was born – a super fun event to showcase these wonderful stories and provide audiences with an opportunity to come together with like-minded romance film and book enthusiasts”.
CEO of Screen Queensland Jacqui Feeney said,
“Screen Queensland is proud to partner with Blussh through our Screen Culture Fund, which supports events contributing to the growth and success of Queensland’s screen industry by engaging audiences across a variety of genres.
The sunshine state has emerged as the romance film capital of Australia in recent years, and through its bold and colourful vision, Blussh provides a unique festival format that gets to the heart of romance film production in Queensland. Over three days, the festival will explore the vital collaboration between authors, screenwriters and filmmakers, while championing the creation of fresh, locally made films for a genre adored by millions of viewers around the world.”
