American Express Openair Cinemas has announced 36 events at its Gold Coast venue this summer, which can be discovered on the water’s edge at Broadwater Parklands, in Southport. The program will run from March 14th– April 14thand bring so much more than movies this summer.
An exciting festival program of food, fun and flicks is revealed, with American Express card members receiving a range of exclusive benefits.

FUN
With over 25 events happening at Broadwater Parklands, the festival vibes will be in full swing with an array of alternative entertainment, live music and DJ performances before the latest and greatest feature films light up the big screen.
Punters have no need to feel lonesome on their night out,asfilm fanatics and doggy owners are invited to bring their K9 furry friends to any screening (being mindful of films with expected gunfire and explosions).
FLICKS
The Gold Coast program boasts an exciting mix of highly anticipated new releases and box office hits including Aquaman,Glass and Bohemian Rhapsody. Oscar winners including A Star is Born, Green Book and The Favourite also feature prominently in the 2019 program.
Families can choose from a selection of family-friendly titles including: How to Train Your Dragon: The Hidden World and A Dog’s Way Home.
We’ve also got the latest epic movie from the Marvel Universe: Captain Marvel (11thand 14thApril) –Starring Brie Larson as Carol Danvers, who becomes one of the universe’s most powerful heroes when Earth is caught in the middle of a galactic war between two alien races.
FOOD
Purveyors of fine food and authentic Italian cuisine, Salt Meats Cheese are returning again to cook up a storm. At the helm are Stefano De Blasi and Edoardo Perlo, who will be curating the daily menu of irresistible dishes available throughout the season. Their renowned antipasti and wood-fired pizzas are sure to delight cinema goers.
No event is complete without an option for those with a sweet tooth. Haagen Dazs will be providing ice cream scoops for film loving troops.
DRINKS
Fear not, the refreshments are taken care of too thanks to national partners 4Pines craft beer, PIMMS and Giesen Wines. Black Devil Cider will also be tickling Gold Coast movie-goers’ taste buds.
Champagne Dupperrey will also have bubbles on ice for those wanting to add some fizz to the celebrations.
