Celebrate All Things Cocktails And Bars With Australian Cocktail Month This May

April 28, 2021

Prepare to immerse yourself in a celebration of cocktails from 1 – 31 May with the launch of Australian Cocktail Month. Held across Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne and Adelaide, Australian Cocktail Month will partner with some of the best local and international alcohol brands to champion the country’s bar industry. Consumers will unlock unique bar experiences, escape the day to day and enjoy delicious cocktails with the Australian Cocktail Month ticket.  The $20 ticket, which is now available online HERE, allows guests access to a special menu of cocktails created exclusively for the month. The menu will be available at participating venues, with cocktails priced at $14, and non-alcoholic options at $10.

Founded by influential industry figure Penny Sippe, Australian Cocktail Month will feature local brands including the Sunshine Coast’s 2020 Distillery’s East London Dry Gin, Barossa Distilling’s Shiraz Gin, and Feels Botanicals, along with a range of international brands including Hendrick’s Gin, Patrón Tequila, Woodford Reserve Whiskey, and Sailor Jerry Rum. Eighteen venues across Brisbane have been hand-picked to take part in this exciting inaugural event, including The Gresham, Savile Row, Death and Taxes and Blackbird.

Australian bartenders will literally be mixing these spirits with the best – Monin Syrups, Acqua Bianca by Salvatore Calabrese and Select Aperitivo, and the highly prized Fever-Tree mixers round out the products bartenders will be using to craft their cocktails. Recognising that the desire for low or no alcohol options is continuing to grow, Australian Cocktail Month has partnered with Lyre’s and their exquisite range of lovingly crafted non-alcoholic spirits allowing guests to partake without compromising on what makes Australian bars great: the cocktail experience (and loads of flavour).

“I am excited to launch Australian Cocktail Month and give Brisbane the chance to try amazing cocktails created by some of the city’s best bars. I’m also proud to provide assistance to the industry as they rebuild following the pandemic,” said Sippe.

The Australian Cocktail Month concept has been enthusiastically received by bartenders and bars across the country. “Bringing the consumer closer to cocktail culture, often dominated by trade can only be beneficial to our industry. Along with that it will allow brands to truly activate through the line and be able to promote directly to consumers that their brands are in the best bars in the country,” said Peter Hollands, Manager of The Gresham.

A ticket to Australian Cocktail Month can be used at any participating venue throughout May, and is available for purchase now HERE.
