April 3, 2020

Brisbane business-savvy creative, Hillary Wall, owner of Cork & Chroma, has painted a new picture this week for her paint and sip studio. Having to close her studio doors due to Government rulings brought in due to COVID-19, Hillary moved her paint and sip studio to online live classes.

Everyone knows Cork & Chroma, they are the original Paint & Sip studio first opened in Brisbane in 2013 and have opened studio’s in Sydney & Melbourne over the last 7 years, they open their studio to you, allow you to bring in a bottle or two of wine, your best friend and they teach you how to paint! Now they are offering this from the comfort of your own home!

Owner of Cork & Chroma, Hillary Wall is ready & excited for the classes. The adaption to online means that anyone, anywhere can join in and express themselves creatively and break up the daily regiment of self-isolation.

“We love having people come to our studios providing an outlet where people can tap into their creative expression while having a fun night out with friends, and while we have to temporarily close our physical studios, this doesn’t mean we have to stop the fun altogether.” said Hillary.

“Participants can supply their own materials, or alternatively we have created a bundled series of ‘At Home Studio Kits’ with everything you’ll need and are suited for painters at all levels. These kits are available for
pick-up from our studios in Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne.”

The online classes were launched this week and are hosted by the artists at Cork & Chroma, who will live-stream painting instructions, step by step, right to you at home, participants simply need to register online at the Cork & Chroma website.

“It is also an exciting platform, because it means that we can have participants from all over Australia so friends or family who are in different states can organise a fun night ‘in’ with lots of laughs.” said Hillary.

There’s no question that the entertainment, arts and creative industries have been heavily affected by COVID-19, however it is providing small business such as Cork & Chroma with a chance to adapt and think on their feet to ensure that the creatives within our community still have access to a platform to express their creativity.

“Cork & Chroma is and has been a labor of love for our family, and we think that it is so important that people in Australia can still have an outlet to not only explore their creative expression, but to simply have a bit of fun.”

“No one said we had to stop having fun while in isolation, and Cork & Chroma online sessions are here to bring a bit of colour to this time which is potentially grey for a lot of people.”

So SheSociety family, get your friends and family to sign up to and online session, grab some At Home Studio Kits off the Cork & Chroma team and have a creative night in… there is no one judging how much wine you drink either… so pop that second bottle of vino!
