Andrew Broad resigns as assistant minister

Nationals MP Andrew Broad has resigned as assistant minister to the Deputy Prime Minister, after New Idea Magazine published allegations Mr Broad used work trips as opportunities to meet women online.

Mr Broad had been an assistant minister for three months.

In a statement, Deputy Prime Minister and leader of the Nationals Michael McCormack said given the nature of the allegations, it was appropriate Mr Broad resigned from the ministry.

Earthquake off Coral Bay in WA’s north was AU’s 2nd highest in 20 years

Western Australia has been shaken by the second-largest earthquake felt in Australia in the past 20 years. Prior to this magnitude-5.9 quake, the next most powerful earthquake was recorded in WA in 1997.

Tremors were felt from north of Port Hedland to south of Perth which is more than 1,000km away.

US President Donald Trump has criticised NBC’s Saturday Night Live once again

In the sketch, Melania had divorced Mr Trump and Robert Mueller had not launched his Russia probe. The sketch opened with an It’s a Wonderful Life-themed sketch that imagined a White House if Mr Trump had not been elected.

Mr Trump slammed the show as a “Democratic spin machine” in response, saying it was the “REAL scandal” and that it should be “tested in court”.
