OMG we had no idea how huge St Patrick’s Day is in Australia!!!! It was so much fun being Irish for the Day to celebrate this event that serves tribute to Ireland and one of its patron saints, St Patrick on March 17.
“Wherever you go and whatever you do, may the luck of the Irish be there with you.”
Even though it is not a public holiday in Australia the Irish absolutely treat it this way and always take the full day off to celebrate this popular event across many restaurants and pubs, particularly those with an Irish theme.
We headed to Finn McCool’s in Brunswick Mall in the Valley where the action started at 10am and continued to the wee hours of the next morning.
There was the best live entertainment all day featuring The Munster Bucks, Murphy’s Pigs, Irish Dancing, Irish Pipe Band, Limerick and more. There was also a ridiculous amount of the black stuff aka Guinness and great Irish Food.
The atmosphere was absolutely fantastic, with everyone dressing up and getting into the Irish spirit! There were lots of giveaways and promotions and we cannot wait to return next year. To be sure to be sure to set this in the calendar!
