With only one week to go till Valentine’s Day, the smart lovers should be well and truly into the planning phase or run the risk of that last minute scramble that has “disaster” written all over it.

As usual, there will be heaps of “I love you’s”, tons of chocolates and thousands of flowers handed over as well as endless dinners for two on February 14.

But the big love winners this year will be those (both sexes) who go out of their way to add something extra, such as a special event that makes Valentine’s Day even more memorable.

Country rocker Keith Urban is big into “the occasion” celebration.

With his wife Nicole Kidman not being a fan of parties, especially surprise ones, Keith thought outside the box when it came to marking Nicole’s 40th birthday when she was filming in country Australia.

He took her on a romantic drive to the top of a nearby small mountain where he had previously had a couch transported, and as they sat down a giant fireworks display erupted just for Nicole. Brownie points galore.
