In The Spirit of Queensland

June 12, 2017

We were delighted to receive an invitation to attend the Queensland Lobby High Tea at Stamford Plaza Brisbane Hotel which was officially launched on Queensland Day, Tuesday 6 June. We always feel like Queens when we visit the luxurious Stamford Hotel with their beautiful panoramic river views from their Brasserie and of course their amazing lobby lounge – it really does have a royalty ambience.

Their Lobby High Tea was truly an elegant setting which captured the Spirit of Queensland.  Inspired by Queensland and Australian tastes, the High Tea menu incorporates flavours hailing from the red soil outback to coastal beachfronts. The Essence of Queensland entremets was prepared by the hotel’s award winning Pastry Chefs and presented to Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II during her most recent visit to Brisbane. There were so many delicious savouries including barramundi, leek & dill mini quiches, chicken & sundried tomato wraps and curry puffs just to name just a few. To top it off was a large assortment of scones and sweet temptations, and a couple of our favourites were the Billy Tea Kangaroo sugarcane shortbread and deconstructed strawberry sundae in a glass – delicious!

We know this Brisbane high tea experience will become a must-try for Queensland locals and visitors alike. The High Tea is available from 9 June and held Fridays 3-5pm, Saturday & Sundays 3:30 – 5:30pm at a cost of only $49.

Once again they are celebrating Christmas in July with their scrumptuous seasonal buffet in their Brasserie on the River being held from 1 July to 31 July. We went last year and will definitely be going back!  For further details visit their website.
