Noosa Country Polo Club President, Niall Coburn, said “We are proud to be presenting the closing event of the official Queensland Polo Association season, the Noosa Polo Cup on Sunday October 3. Over the course of the day, eight teams comprising players with international experience will showcase their skills on the polo field – it will be an exciting day! It will also be a day of glamour, fun, friendship and community. We encourage all to come along and indulge in a world of amazing horse athleticism and horsemanship as team vie for the ultimate prize – the Noosa Polo Cup. So dress up and enjoy yourself with colleagues, clients, family and friends. After a hard year – let’s all support each other and have a great time.”
Noosa Polo Club Ambassador, Shaun Birley, who is an e-commerce consultant and a fashion and travel enthusiast has over 100,000 followers on Instagram and Facebook. Shaun is new to the game of polo, having only recently started with the Queensland Polo Association on their “Learn to play polo journey” #polojourney , which has seen Shaun go from hardly ever riding a horse and certainly never playing polo, to be able to compete in his very first sanctioned polo tournament, in the Noosa Cup. He will also judge fashion on the field. “I’ve been learning to play polo with Noosa Country Polo Club for several months and the journey has been incredible. My technique and skill of horse riding has improved considerably. It will be my first professional game and with a strong background in fashion I can’t wait to be part of Fashions on the Field ” says Birley.
The Noosa Polo Cup is the closing event of the Official Queensland Polo Association season. Noosa Country Polo is affiliated with the Queensland Polo Association and the Australian Polo Federation. The preliminary fixtures will take place on Saturday October 2 which will determine the competition schedule for Finals Day on the Sunday, including the world class teams that will compete for the Noosa Polo Cup.
A limited number of guests will have the opportunity to enjoy first class hospitality including the exclusive VIP Private Marquees presented by Champagne Bollinger, the premium Noosa Country Lounge and our beautiful country feel Peggy’s Square Lawn Enclosure that will be the hub of festivities with live music and entertainment. In the tradition of Polo, fashion on the fields will be a highlight on the day, as well as Polo favourites the Men’s and Ladies Dash and the famous Stomping of the Divots.
This event is strictly 18 + with return shuttle buses on offer from Noosa.
