Brisbane’s biggest shopping party invites you to Shop Under the Stars

On Friday 5 October, Brisbane’s biggest shopping party is back and better than ever.

In a collaboration between QueensPlaza, The Myer Centre and Wintergarden, Shop Brisbane City will transform the heart of Brisbane’s shopping mecca, the Queen Street Mall, into an explosion of colour and entertainment.

The coveted event, now in its second year, will showcase the most unique aspect of shopping in the City – the exciting outdoor atmosphere and vibrant ambience of shopping ‘Under the Stars’.

This must-attend shopping event of the season has something for everyone with special offers, retailer pop-ups, exclusive gifts and entertainment on offer throughout the day and into the evening with late night shopping. Shoppers will be treated to free food and drink tastings, beautiful balloon installations and make-up touch ups.

Live fashion shows will showcase the latest Spring Summer looks on the Treasury Brisbane Runway, hosted and styled by Treasury Brisbane Fashion Ambassador Christie Sutherland.

VIP shoppers and special guests can sit back and enjoy sipping Ink Gin cocktails in the opulent Mercedes-Benz Brisbane A-Class Lounge.

From twilight navy tones and sparkling fairy lights to the excitement of an interactive prize experience and star gazing, Shop Brisbane City is a unique event that invites you to see Brisbane in a whole new light.

Shoppers who spend $150 in the Queen Street Mall will have an exclusive chance to ‘Shop and Pop’ one of 3,000 balloons to win instant prizes.

Brisbane City Council’s Finance and Economic Development Chair Krista Adams welcomed Shop Brisbane City back to the CBD, with the event putting a focus on reinvigorating the love of city shopping all year round.

“Home to over 1000 stores, including the largest range of flagship boutiques in Queensland, the Queen Street Mall is the state’s premier shopping destination and Australia’s most successful pedestrian mall, Cr Adams said.

“The Queen Street Mall continues to thrive as a shopping hub for both locals and visitors to our New World City, thanks to its unique offering of international brands, great hospitality options and the lively outdoor atmosphere it presents.

“Shop Brisbane City showcases the impressive retail portfolios on offer and highlights the vibrant and distinctive experiences only Brisbane can offer.”
