Sunday was a huge day for us … we enjoyed the sunshine, food and wine trail in James Street and then got ourselves dollied up for the Ab Fab movie premier!
The James Street trail
It was all happening at the fifth annual James Street Food & Wine Trail on Sunday 31 July.
This was the first year that James Street closed and the street was packed with loads of people experiencing locally produced food and alfresco dining under the promenade of fig trees.
While enjoying the Queensland sunshine, we started with a delicious breakfast before exploring all the fabulous market stalls.
It was a laid back atmosphere with outdoor bars selling cocktails, wine and craft beer for the adults, and for the kids there was also an interactive kids’ zone. There were two live music stages, and a pop-up kitchen stage where chefs showcased their amazing talents.
We had a fabulous morning but it was soon time to get home for a wardrobe change to become even more fabulous for the evening we had ahead!
AB FB – the movie premiere
Shopping was the first thing on the agenda after we received our invitations to be the “PR Princesses & Socialites” for the Brisbane premiere of Absolutely Fabulous: The Movie, at the Palace Barracks cinemas.
So of course sweetie darling, it became a day trip to the Gold Coast starting with a coffee at Palazzo Versace, and then off to Anthony Lee Dower to purchase our matching grey fluffy fur coats.
If you haven’t experienced a Premier at the Palace Barracks before, it is a must-to-do!We were greeted with Prosecco piccolo’s, chocolate dipped strawberries and Patsy & Eddie fun masks.
We partied with Patsy & Eddie look-a-likes, the fabulous Hostesses with the Mostesses, and other VIPs including Hit105’s Stav & Abby (pictured right), who were so much fun!
Everyone dressed up for the occasion; between us we wore a sequin skirt, bell bottom pants, fluoro pink tops, and our new fabulous fur jackets which won us the ‘Best Dressed’ award! Nicola Warman-Flood from 20th Century Fox presented our prizes to us on stage – we were absolutely thrilled to bits.
The goodie bags (pictured left) included a hot pink journal, make-up bag, hip flask and compact mirror each – of course we’ll use them every day!
The movie was absolutely fabulous darling, sweetie of course… it’s great fun for everyone. We laughed ourselves silly while sipping on our champers!
While Jennifer Saunders and Joanna Lumley were the main stars, there were loads of cameos in the film including Kate Moss, Aussie comedian Rebel Wilson, Joan Collins and Jerry Hall, just to mention a few.
