This week we had a ball! We shook our fluffy bunny tail at a special movie premiere and then walked the red carpet at the launch of a new Brisbane bar and bistro!
Nothing gets you better prepared for a Bridget Jones’s Baby premier than bunny ears and a fluffy tail, which set the scene for fun and laughter from beginning to end.
We are massive BJ fans, so we knew we were in for a good night! But we had no idea and how hilarious this movie was going to be.
This special premiere was in support of Zonta Brisbane City Heart—a community organisation that is focused on empowering women through service and advocacy—and hosted by Amena Reza (President) and Lisa Newman (Vice-President).
We were greeted with champagne on arrival, and then it was our job to help raise money. A gold coin donation to have a picture taken with a life size cardboard cut-out of Mr. Mark Darcy—who’s a top barrister you know—nailed it! The girls couldn’t resist this opportunity, and were obviously happy to help out a great cause.
Mr. Darcy and his fans helped raise around $3200 from the evening to help Zonta Brisbane City Heart get the sewing room happening for the young women at Mirra House.
The movie itself was an absolute hoot; the whole theatre was in stitches of laughter. We don’t want to go away too much detail and spoil it for you, but we can say there’s a great cameo from Ed Sheeran, and yes… Bridget Jones does have a baby… LOL! There are lots of twists and turns that will keep you captivated right throughout the entire film.
After the film finished, we took Mr. Darcy for a drink at Gerties, and he literally stopped passing traffic. The laughs continued all night until he came home with us and is now positioned nicely in Jennifer’s bedroom. This is not the last you will see of Mr. Darcy … who knows where he will end up next!
The Croft House official launch
We were delighted to attend the official launch and red carpet VIP soiree event for The Croft House Brisbane – the newest bar and bistro at The Sebel Brisbane.
The night began with walking the red carpet, having a photo taken and being greeted by Sebel Hotel General Manager Kristian Lindhe (pictured right).
It was a packed-out event, with guests enjoying the free-flowing Champagne Louis Roederer, craft beer, charcuterie, roving canapés, oyster and brisket stations and the VIP hospitality arranged by Natalina Ford from Ford Digital Agency.
VIP attendees included Miss World Australia’s Courtney Thorpe and Madeline Cowe, model Tess Alexander, and Journalist Kendall Gilding, to name a few.
The Croft House Brisbane will definitely be a place you can call your ‘local’ with all-day-dining in a refined cafe-bistro look and feel, seven days a week.
We had a ball! Must run, Mr. Darcy is waiting. See you next week!
