Iconic Australian rockers Grinspoon need little introduction, with the Lismore-hailing group forming in the mid-90s before going on to release multiple ARIA Award-nominated albums and tour the globe, while also dominating festival stages both at home and abroad. Recently releasing their iconic albums Easy (1999) and New Detention (2002) on vinyl last year for the first time ever, snagging #2 and #3 respectively on the ARIA Vinyl Albums chart, Hello Sunshine’s headliners are primed to start the new year off sweltering style, as lead singer Phil Jamieson reveals, “2023 has been a great year for us, and we’re excited to get together for Hello Sunshine to start Grinspoon’s 2024 off just right.”
Returning home for their first local gig since 2022, and their only Australian gig ahead of their US tour in April for their new album Gothic Summer (set for release March 15), Aussie alt-pop icons The Veronicas, consisting of twin sisters Lisa and Jessica Origliasso, are set to ignite the Hello Sunshine fun this March. From their #1 chart smashing single Hook Me Up through to multiple award wins, five full length albums, international tours, and support slots for the likes of the Jonas Brothers, 5 Seconds Of Summer and many more, 2024 will also showcase some brand new material for the Hello Sunshine crowds. “Melbourne!! We’re bringing our new music to you for 2024, as well as making this the biggest sing-a-long of all our hits Melbourne has ever seen,” the act shares. “Can’t wait to see you Hello Sunshine!!”
Making their debut at Hello Sunshine this March, join The Wiggles’ very own Anthony, John and DJ Dorothy, with the trio teaming up to perform as The Wiggles Sound System. Spinning an afternoon set of Wiggly remixes for your listening pleasure at Hello Sunshine, this is truly the team up multi-generational dreams were made of. Come and witness this awesome setup live in action for the very first time and experience a moment in Wiggles history. “Where classic Wiggles tunes meet electrifying beats,” says John of The Wiggles Sound System. “Can’t wait to play with DJ Dorothy and OG Anthony Wiggle on the decks, delivering a nostalgic fusion that will keep you Wiggling!”
Fresh off the back of his sold out Greatest Hits Tour in 2023, 3-time ARIA Album Chart topper and festival fave Pete Murray will be hitting the Hello Sunshine stage armed with all of the sunny sonic goodness this March. Renowned for his blissful tunes and onstage charm, Murray will be simultaneously soaking up and bringing the good times to Melbourne this March, with an array of new and old favourites firmly up his sleeves for the event. “Melbourne is like a second home to me,” says Murray, “and I can’t wait to be back for this show feeling the good vibes at Hello Sunshine!”
Bringing their euphoric rock stylings to the Hello Sunshine crowds this year, Aussie stalwarts The Temper Trap are not to be missed in any live setting. From humble beginnings in Melbourne to exploding into the spotlight alongside their global breakout single Sweet Disposition, the four-time ARIA Award winners are set to bring a horde of their hits and rousing alt-rock gems for an unforgettable Hello Sunshine set this year. “We are so stoked to be playing Hello Sunshine this Summer in Melbourne,” says the band. “See you there soon!”
Alongside additional artists, including hip hop legends Bliss n Eso, country singer-songwriter Brad Cox, Melbourne musos Jay Santilli, Anya Alchemy, D’Arcy Spiller and Lenny Pearce, and the world’s oldest rockin’ DJS Rockafellas, MC Byron Cooke will return in 2024 after hosting the 2023 Hello Sunshine main stage. And aside from top-notch music throughout the day, Hello Sunshine will also feature 20 international food trucks, a wide range of bars and beverages, over 15 carnival rides and attractions, an epic FMX show with insane aerial motorbike flips and tricks, a show-stopping fireworks display, and market stalls by some of the best local makers, curators, and small business owners.
For some added family-friendly fun, the day’s entertainment also includes roving children’s entertainers, including many beloved characters, face painting and hair braiding, and an abundance of festival treats including show bags, fairy floss and snow cones. Lower price tickets are available for teens and children, making Hello Sunshine the ultimate summer’s day out for all ages.
Nestled at the foot of the Dandenong Ranges, Caribbean Gardens in Melbourne’s east will once again play home to Hello Sunshine following its inaugural 2023 edition. Fast becoming Victoria’s new favourite festival grounds, with the picturesque green space providing the ultimate playground, Caribbean Gardens also played host to Melbourne’s Listen Out festival in 2023. For Hello Sunshine in 2024, expect a day filled with stellar live entertainment, mouth-watering food, good vibes galore and, of course – sunshine!
“Hello Sunshine was such a runaway success in early 2023 – we knew we were on to something special, and couldn’t wait to bring it back bigger and better in 2024,” shares Lucky Ent executive Keiran Dole. “We are proud to be putting on a supersized showcase of the best Aussie talent with everyone from Grinspoon to The Wiggles Sound System performing – so there’s certainly something for everyone in the family at Hello Sunshine 2024. We’ll see you at Caribbean Gardens on March 2nd!”
