Calling all snow bunnies! As the weather cools, SheSociety always looks forward to the launch of SNOW WEEK at the Prince Consort. This year the theme was – One Night in Aspen.
During Snow Week one of Brisbane’s favourite venues trucks in 50 tonnes of real snow which falls on patrons every hour on the hour. There are installations, a variety of snowy events, roaming performers, entertainment and DJ’s, winter warmers and themed nights all designed to keep you toasty warm and entertained this winter.
Guests to the VIP Launch Party included Ben from Brisbane, the Queensland Lady, Backstreet Brisbane, our host Jason Hirt, the SheSociety team and many more. We all enjoyed a two-hour complimentary food and beverage package while dancing the night away
to some excellent tunes.
We sampled and supped on some of the special Snow Week winter menu items including salt and pepper calamari, roasted beetroot tart, quattro formaggi arancini, maple truffle chicken sliders, yakatori chicken skewers, waffles and ice cream with salted caramel ice cream and brandy caramel and my favourite, snowballs with fireball custard.
There was a fireball ice sculpture, Mumm champagne, RTDS from Brookvale, Smirnoff and Whiteclaw, Aperol Spritz, Jagermeister Mulled wine and plenty of tap beers to enjoy.
Fancy Origin in the Snow? You can head to the Garden bar which is being transformed into a snowy arena where you can catch all the action. On Thursday night you’ll have the chance to put the ugly sweater that Granny gave you to good use as part of Snow Week 2024’s Ugly Sweater Trivia. There are stacks of prizes and guests could win a $100 voucher for their table to use on the night.
Friday night sees the Retro Ski Party so dust off those fluoro ski jackets and goggles for a night of nostalgic tunes where the Garden Bar is transformed into an 80’s and 90’s dance haven. There’ll be electrifying entertainment and heaps of prizes for best dressed. Snow Queen Bingo is back at lunchtime on Saturday and in the evening it’s the up late Apres Ski Party.
On Sunday is one for me, the Shania Twain Tribute from 4pm. This event will warm you up for Canada Day on Monday. Brisbane’s biggest and best Canada Day party starts at 11am where you can dive into Canadian games, trivia and themed entertainment amongst 50 tonnes of snow. Enjoy your favourite Canadian foods like poutine, beaver tails, maple glazed burgers and of course, Caesars. This is a family friendly collaboration bringing the true spirit of Canada down under. If the kids have never seen snow, now is your chance.
Round up your crew and prepare yourself to enter a Winter Wonderland throughout this fabulous multi–level venue all week. Every day will see fresh snow so prepare to waltz into winter with a wonderful array of events at one of Brisbane’s best loved and award-winning venues – The Prince Consort. Baby, it’s cold outside!
