I was disappointed when the Ravishing Fashionistas Fashion Show was postponed in early July due to snap lockdowns. So you can imagine my excitement to hear that a new date had been found and I was still going to be able to glam up and head to this diverse show in August. With the theme of Gold and Glitters, Ravishing Fashionistas will be showcasing local designers: Irma J Smith House of Fashion, Murrii Quu Couture, Moreno Marcos, Maven Label, Monica Tovar, Buluuy Murrii, Fashion 360 , young designers from TAFE Queensland and more. This event promises to be one of Brisbane’s premiere events of 2021 filled with glitz, glamour and sophistication.
Ravishing Fashionistas is a unique concept created by Upma Kite in 2019, which exists to help women embrace themselves by breaking stereotypes in the fashion industry. The Ravishing Fashionistas team have managed to deliver two SOLD OUT fashion shows: the first in March 2019 at the Sofitel; and the second in February 2020 at Stamford Plaza.
At the end of June, the RF Team were ready to do it all again at the Royal International Convention Centre – however due to Covid19 restrictions it was postponed until August 21st, 2021. This Fashion Show promises to be the biggest & best Ravishing Fashionistas Fashion Show yet. Continuing the mission to embrace yourself by breaking stereotypes and advocating positive body image, the Ravishing Fashionistas Team is determined to deliver an exceptional Fashion Show experience.
Team RF were recently interviewed by Channel 10 news for their evening segment in preparation for the Fashion Show. A few of the designers and hair & make-up artists were able to attend to help glam up some of the models to strut their stuff for the cameras in the beautiful Brisbane Quarter. The team, led by Director & Founder Upma Kite, pulled together a mini Ravishing Fashion Show and spoke about the hardships faced by those who don’t fit the outdated stereotypes within the fashion industry.
Encouraging everyone to fight prejudice and advocate positive body image for all women; their message to the community is to confidently embrace their beauty and body irrespective of their age, body type, background, skin colour or culture. Every woman has a story and a unique personality – and Ravishing Fashionistas want to hear it.
So join Ravishing Fashionistas for a night filled with fashion, fun & positive energy at the Royal International Convention Centre on the new date of August 21st, 2021, to be a part of this journey and help raise funds for much needed charities such as the National Breast Cancer Foundation & Dignifying Women.
