I recently became aware of new Australian fashion label – HANK & HERA. Created in Sydney in 2023, this new label offers fashion for sizes 4 to 34. Founded by Philippa Giles this Australian label is poised to mark a significant step forward in fashion’s inclusivity, but its founder is truly inspiring.
This is Philippa Giles first label; however, she has been championing size – inclusive fashion through her online boutique, SISU & FINN for more than half a decade. Plus – size herself, Philippa created HANK & HERA after her own experience with Australia’s underservice of inclusive sizing.
Designed in Australia the label also supports female – founded businesses in the manufacturing industry, contributing to female empowerment in all areas of the industry. This brand is a six-year labour of love with all garments being named after a female member of family, friend or woman of significance who has played a role in her personal and business journey.
Philippa encourages all women of every size to embrace life’s possibilities with grace, strength, authenticity and unyielding confidence. Michelle Beesley is a Brisbane born and bred former primary school teacher. A wife, proud grandma and mother of three grown sons, Michelle is thrilled to have recently published her debut contemporary romance novel, It Happened in Paris, with Serenade Publishing.
