On the weekend we could not resist an invitation to attend the inaugural BBQ & Beer Roadshow held at Doomben Racecourse! 
Who doesn’t love a good BBQ, coupled with some seriously good local and international brews, a great line-up of music and some amazing food trucks and market stalls to make a truly awesome Summer Saturday!
The event was from 10am to 10pm, but we made sure we arrived early to make most of the fun!
We spent the afternoon sampling tantalising meat and chicken dishes from around the world, such as Traditional Texas BBQ; Korean American BBQ; BBQ Pork Belly, Skewers galore and more. All this alongside some of the top 20 craft brewers, including Stone & Wood, Newstead Brewing, Fixation and Nomad Brewing Co.
It didn’t take long for the event to be packed. A popular spot was around the centre stage to watch the BBQ and Beer Masterclasses where you could pick up some hot tips and learn from the experts on how to become a true meat magician!
It was a fantastic, relaxed atmosphere, as everyone cruised the BBQ Arena and had the opportunity to witness nearly 30 of Australia’s Best BBQ Crews battling it out right in front of your eyes for fame, glory and over $15,000 in cash & prizes!
It was a cashless event. Their own card system was operating with $2 from every ticket going to local charity Street Smart.
Definitely a great experience and can’t wait for next year!
