Thanks to CG Design Studio, SheSociety has a few easy ways to inject some colour into our living spaces, specifically this years colour of the year.
PANTONE revealed its 2018 Colour of the Year is PANTONE 18-3838 Ultra Violet.
Ultra violet is a very divisive colour and it took many by surprise when it was revealed as PANTONE’s Colour of the Year. But look a little deeper into what it the colour and its origins, and it’s easy to see the significance it has to 2018. As the colour of royalty, the gay movement, feminism, magic and spirituality, Ultra Violet will have meaning for most people.
In recent years the PANTONE colours have been simple to incorporate into your home décor, but this year this enigmatic colour has people a little perplexed. So, the GC Design Studio team has created some suggestions on how to add Ultra Violet into your existing design.
- Flowers
The simplest way to introduce ultra violet into your home is with flowers and Singapore Orchids are the perfect choice. Vibrant, sculptural and exotic, these flowers complement any interior.
- Accessories
Albeit a little retro, coloured glassware is a great way to add vibrancy to your coffee table vignette. Explore your local antiques stores and you’re sure to find a few jewels out there.
If your vibe is more contemporary, Australian designer Shana Blaze teamed up with One World to release a simple glass lamp. With its subtle design, the colours of this piece makes a striking statement.
- Upholstery
Every room needs a stand-out piece, and a statement chair is great way to add colour and conversation to a room. As seen here in our Tenerife House, Rich velvets teamed with natural materials creates a contemporary yet classic palette. Or if you want a more seasonal look, utilise cushions with hints of ultra violet to give a subtle pop of this year’s colour.
