Wow! We are so lucky to live in Brisbane … this is winter and only a couple of weeks ago Brisbane reached 29 degrees! This week though has brought a few colder days again, and ideal weather for two amazing winterfest events.
Moet & Chandon Winter Party
We couldn’t resist an invitation to attend the Moet & Chandon Winter Party on Wednesday night at the Riverbar & Kitchen.
Upon arrival we had a professional photograph taken and we were handed a complimentary gold goblet of Moet & Chandon! Who could resist?
We then entered into a winter wonderland with lighting effects, where endless Moet & Chandon was served along with Belvedere cocktails, wine, beer and a variety of delicious canapés.
Special guest was Chef and Restauranter Matt Moran, (pictured above) along with plenty of other VIPs including the gorgeous Emma Sheppard (pictured left) and Gianni and Zana from MKR (My Kitchen Rules) to name a few!
We did lots of schmoozing with other guests (it’s our job!) and got to celebrate all things winter, set against the beautiful backdrop of our gorgeous Brisbane River.
Riverbar & Kitchen is one of Brisbane’s best party spots, and we are spoilt to have this one-of-a-kind waterfront destination with the light-filled ambience of a boathouse. There’s a massive ship’s-rope feature light, peaked timber rafters and a sea-green polished concrete floor, with most of the tables under a large sail. Wonderful! Thanks to the lovely Natalie Ford for shouting us Christmas in July.
Christmas Winterfest at the Stamford
We kept the Christmas in July theme going and headed to the Stamford Hotel.
Warning! There’s only a few weeks left of the Christmas Winterfest Smorgasbord at The Brasserie, Stamford Hotel and you don’t want to miss out on this fabulous experience if you love everything about Christmas.
It’s so exciting and traditional (for some) to experience a chilly Christmas and along with the great food, enjoy singing along to Christmas Carols and the Brisbane River views.
Wearing our Christmas traditional colours of red and green, we enjoyed the five-star service from the Maître d’ and wonderful wait staff.
For foodies reading our column, we started with a large plate of king prawns with Moet & Chandon Champagne, then tried the baked ham, and turkey with all the roast veggies. We left room to finish with plum pudding and custard – it is tradition!
