OWN THE ART behind Arts & Minds! 10 brilliant works of art (and mind) to be auctioned off at the Arts & Minds Cocktail Gala which is on NEXT Thursday, May 31 on the rooftop of 480 Queen Street, hosted by leading Australian commentator and host Meshel Laurie with 10 incredible artworks for auction, in a celebration of mental health awareness.
Arts & Minds gives artists living with mental health challenges, the opportunity to create, share and sell a work of art – via a range of captivating platforms. It’s a shining light in a world that so often relegates certain conversations to the shadows.
The program paired 5 emerging artists, all who have been affected by mental health issues, with 5 established artists. The five emerging artists are Ipswich-based indigenous artist Ailsa Walsh, the Gold Coast’s Samuel Dunn, Marie Robertson from Brisbane, Woombye’s Liz Pepper and Spectator Jonze from Eight Mile Plains. They have been paired with five leading and established Queensland artists in Sean Leahy, Matt Stewart, Tracey Keller, Tracey Eaton and Aunty Denise Proud. The paired artists worked at the same time, and to the same brief to create their pieces.
