SYDNEY, 28 JUNE: To launch Ben & Jerry’s NEW Sundae pint range, the legend-dairy ice cream makers have partnered with delivery platform, DoorDash, giving away 1,000 FREE pints to ice cream lovers across Australia. The offer, available on World Ice Cream Day Sunday July 16th, is designed to surprise and delight Aussies as their best Sunday of the year officially starts to close in.
To support the launch of their two new flavours, Hazel-nuttin’ but Chocolate, and non-dairy Berry Revolutionary, Ben & Jerry’s commissioned research into the phenomenon impacting Aussies* good weekend vibes – the Sunday Scaries – finding majority experience these feelings on Sunday after 4pm.
Furthermore, almost all (96%) of Aussies have coping mechanisms when it comes to trying to beat the Sunday Scaries. Almost half (45%) treat themselves to comfort food – like sweet treats and ice cream – and almost three in ten (28%) binge on a favourite series or movie to distract themselves from these dreaded feelings. The equivalent of over 200,000 Aussies, don’t do anything, simply letting the sense of unease get the better of them – no takeaway meals or ice cream sundaes in tow for emotional support.
Brand Manager ANZ, Natalie Wubben says: “The research findings found some startling facts, but it provided us with the perfect moment for Ben & Jerry’s to help curb these dreaded feelings experienced by so many Aussies – and there couldn’t be a better Sunday to do it other than the equivalent of ice cream lovers Christmas, World Ice Cream Day.
Our new Sundae range, full of chunks and swirls is sure to help tame these Sunday blues. With two new flavour combinations to choose from, paired with a dangerously delicious creamy whipped topping, Aussies can sit back and relax, letting the swirls spiral, instead of the scaries!”
Berry Revolutionary is a non-dairy frozen dessert, chock full of chocolatey sandwich cookies, cookie swirls, topped with soft whipped topping with caramel swirls and chocolatey chunks. Hazel-nuttin’ but Chocolate, a flavour taking the most direct route to nutty euphoria, layered with chocolate ice cream, brownie pieces and sea salt chocolatey swirls, where every scoop is a delicious revelation.
Ben & Jerry’s, with the help of DoorDash, will give away 1,000 of their latest ‘most jam-packed with the good bits’ pints in a bid to cure the nation. The offer is only redeemable via the DoorDash app, using the coupon code SUNDAESCARIES on Sunday 16th July at 4pm.
The new Ben & Jerry’s Sundae range is available now in Coles, Metcash retailers, Ben & Jerry’s Scoop Stores & petrol, and convenience retailers, for $14.50 RRP.
