I have bought into the trending donut craze with relish, but macarons will forever hold a special spot in my heart – a gooey, sweet, special spot. Luckily, I have discovered Marché du Macaron.
Highlights: Cherry chocolate macaron pops
My fave: Blue coconut macaron
Tips: Try the macaron pops for a delicious novelty
Review:
Even in the height of my sporadic health kicks I find it hard to walk past Marché du Macaron, located in an adorably renovated cottage in Gordon Park.
The fairy lights and provincial décor coupled with a tantalising array of gluten free delights makes those with a sweet tooth feel as if they are stepping into a fairytale written just for them.
All macarons, éclairs, brownies and treats are handmade on the premises and 100 per cent gluten free.
Slightly larger than average, Marché’s macarons offer the perfect sized treat, and are available to order in bulk for special events and catering.
This treasure trove of tasty treats is well worth going out of your way for the experience as much as the melt-in-your-mouth macarons!
Plus, you can do macron masterclasses and learn how to make your own … really! At $160 per person, details online.
