The Miami boys are back in town and they didn’t let us down. Bad Boys-Ride or Die movie kept us on the edge of our seats with this most enjoyable thrill ride, to the very end.
Such an adrenaline kick full of action, good guys bad guys and many hilarious antics that made me laugh out loud. These iconic comedic mischief makers Detective Mike Lowrey (Will Smith) and Marcus Burnett (Martin Lawrence) were like two restless big kids infused with red cordial. Their intentions are genuine and loyal yet their actions told another story, misinterpreted.
And this time Miami’s finest bad boys are on the receiving end. A fast-paced interesting turn of events when the tables turned. They were on the run from their department, including their police buddies.
Bad Boys-Ride of Die is the fourth film preceded by the original film in 1995 Bad Boys, Bad Boys II in 2003, and Bad Boys for Life in 2020. There was also a spin-off television series, L.A.’s Finest.
I quickly recognised actors who have appeared in many TV series and movies. In particular Eric Dane from the original Grey’s Anatomy and Welsh actor Ioan Gruffudd who starred in our Australian series, Harrow.
The Story
Detectives Mike Lowrey and Marcus Burnett from the Miami Police Department have 72 hours to find $100 million worth of heroin before Internal Affairs shuts them down.
After a friend of Mike’s is murdered by drug dealers he becomes more involved than anticipated and he convinces his buddy cop, Marcus, to switch places to gain cooperation from a witness to a murder.
As Mike and Marcus head up a task force to investigate Miami’s ever-increasing influx of ecstasy into Miami, they are led to the lethal drug kingpin Johnny Tapia. He plans to control the city’s drug traffic and this causes complications and underground warfare. Meanwhile, Mike and Syd, Marcus’s sister are in a secret relationship while Mike and Marcus continue to clear their names.
