Roy Orbison, the American crooner who was famous for his distinctive voice and dark, emotional ballads will be taking the stage this year. No, he unfortunately has not risen from the dead, but technology has done it again and is presenting us with his hologram instead, with Roy Orbison In Dreams: The Hologram AUS Tour.
The tour will feature newly recorded and never-before-heard arrangements of his songs, which include ‘Oh, Pretty Woman’, ‘You Got It’, ‘Crying’ and ‘I Drove All Night’.
The Roy Orbison hologram tour is among an arrangement of hologram tours which have popped up around the world, including performances from Frank Zappa, ABBA and Ronnie James Dio.
To coincide with the tour, Sony Music has also released the album, A Love So Beautiful: Roy Orbison with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra.
Playing at The Brisbane Entertainment Centre on May 4. You can purchase tickets here.
