The first time I encountered the gorgeous designs of Sonia Stradiotto was when my husband had a conference on the Gold Coast. Whilst he worked during the day I ventured across to Marina Mirage where I was amazed by Sonia’s sparkling and very glamorous designs. Fast forward to 2021 and there she was again at the Brisbane Fashion Festival. Recently I’ve seen her fabulous designs on many fashionable friends. I had to find out more about this Gold Coast designer’s looks for Spring and Summer.
Sonia said, “It’s definitely time to shine this Spring.”
She urges everyone to, “wear the sparkles, the special outfits and the ‘ good stuff ‘ every day and not let them just hang in your wardrobe waiting for a big event! Every day is a special moment, so whether you are going out for dinner, dancing, to the racetrack or across the road, wear that special outfit, wear the colour and the sequins, it will make you smile. The footpath is your catwalk – own it.”
Regular readers know that I don’t shy away from sequins for day or night and have recently challenged myself to put even more sparkle into my everyday. Mia Freedman and her friend Paula Joye are having an hilarious sparkle challenge called ‘ What Would Carrie Do? “ to amuse themselves in lockdown or look to Trinny Woodall for some colour and sparkle inspiration. It will always change your mood and that of those around you.
Not into sparkle, Stradiotto has also put the ROAR back into animal print – which never goes out of style. In a twist she has laced her animal prints with neon.
She says, “Animal print is the new roaring 20 ‘s, worn alone, matched or as a stand out piece.”
Now is the time to break all the old perceived fashion rules – pink and red should most definitely be seen together. Sonia has some beautiful pink and red fashion pieces which look great on most colourings. For those who still love the always chic black and white, Sonia has some sensational pieces in lace, tulle and sequins.
Sonia said, “The advent of COVID has seen the rise of Bombshell Cocktail parties at home. Glamorous house parties are perfect for dressing right up. It’s how it used to be!”
Our fair state of Queensland is shining right now and with such gorgeous Spring weather, we can welcome the decadent styles and colour that many of us love and which many of us can wear right now. You can head to the Gold Coast and visit Sonia Stradiotto Couture at Marina Mirage. Sparkle and shine this Spring.
