Gold Coast Film Festival Announce 2023 Dates And Tickets Are Now On Sale For Marquee Events

Celebrating its 21st year, Queensland’s biggest celebration of cinema is back, April 19 to 30 2023, with the Gold Coast Film Festival (GCFF) at its Gold Coast home, HOTA – Home of the Arts.

Tickets are on sale now for GCFF marquee events; Opening Night Red Carpet Gala Premiere, Screen Industry Gala Awards, and the Women In Film Lunch with the full program announced and all tickets on sale on March 16.

The Red Carpet will be rolled out for Opening Night on Wednesday April 19 from 6pm for headline film and Queensland Premiere; Polite Society.

From director Nida Manzoor, the debut feature Polite Society, premiered at the 2023 Sundance Film Festival.  Starring Priya Kansara (Bridgerton) and Ritu Arya (Red Notice, The Umbrella Academy), the boisterous and original action comedy follows a British Pakistani teenager (and aspiring stuntwoman) who attempts to save her older sister from a semi-arranged marriage by performing an elaborate heist.

Thursday April 20, 2023 will see the celebrated Screen Industry Gala Awards take place at the very heart of Australian filmmaking, Warner Bros. Movie World.

The dazzling night is a chance to network and connect with industry representatives and filmmakers with the presentation of the coveted Chauvel Award along with the 2023 Gold Coast Film Festival Screen Industry Awards.

QT Gold Coast are proudly the venue partner of the GCFF Women In Film Lunch presented by Screen Queensland, Friday April 21.

The Women In Film Lunch brings together the Australian Screen Industry and is renowned for creating the chance to be inspired by female industry professionals.  This sell out event carries the tradition of celebrating stories, perspectives and experiences of women in the Screen Industry.

For a second year, GCFF is excited to announce on ground involvement of our Festival Ambassador and Gold Coaster, Lincoln Lewis.   No stranger to the screen, the award-winning actor is thrilled to be a big part of the Gold Coast Film Festival this year.

GCFF full program is available from March 16 and the line-up will showcase World, Australian and Queensland premieres, exclusive preview screenings and filmmaking talent with an impressive line-up of exciting films, outdoor cinema, red carpet screenings, industry panels, filmmaker Q&As, and special events.
