It never ceases to surprise me how powerful and humbling it is to catch up with a group of women who share the same philosophies, particularly when you are from the same workplace.
Last week I attended a pre International Women’s Day lunch hosted by one of our passionate colleagues, Tiffany Wann, who also runs her own external women’s network group.
The theme titled “Rise Up” was about beliefs, connecting, networking and supporting each other as women.
Our guest speaker was Susan Pearce, co-author of two powerful books on the brain and attention.
Susan’s quote for the day was “Behind Every Successful Woman is a Tribe of Other Successful Women Who Have Her Back” and the main points we took away for women who want to “Rise Up” are as follows:
- Listen to your intuition more and take fear along for the ride
- Relationships and connections are what we do best so we should focus on our strengths
- Work with a fierce heart and create space for other women to rise up
- Make time for being present and doing nothing
The most enjoyable part about listening to Susan was her message manifested from the heart and was presented with a logical down to earth approach.
Susan put us at ease and we left with something to think about i.e. powerful reminders about our uniqueness as women.
When I arrived I felt an instant connection with our group of women and when I left I felt inspired, uplifted and confident.
