Go-vember: Why Right Now Is The Best Time To Head On A Local Road Trip

November 3, 2020

New data from Camplify and Aircamp shows Aussies could save almost 40% on last-min road trips…

Got annual leave to use up? In need of a break? Or would you even consider working from a van? Camplify, Australia’s largest caravan & motorhome sharing community has teamed up with free campsite booking app Aircamp to share insider knowledge to help Aussies book a last-minute getaway.

Coined, Go-vember, data from Camplify and Aircamp shows that from now until  mid-December is one of the best times to explore our country’s large and beautiful backyard.

Save up to 40% on campsite bookings

Data from Aircamp shows that Aussies holidaying in NSW in November could save up to 40% on their campsites in comparison to peak summer, with many park operators offering late Spring deals.

Secure your dream van

With almost 90% of Camplify’s neighbourhood vans fully booked over the festive holidays, sneak in now to choose from many rare finds, including renovated campervans, vintage caravans, and luxury motorhomes.

With lower prices and more flexible minimum stays, holidaymakers could save almost 50% if booking in November.

Three times more likely to secure your top site choice

Aircamp Co-Founder, Mike offers advice to holidaymakers: “We’re already seeing that less than a third of Australia’s campsites and parks have availability during the Christmas holidays. With November showing 300% more availability, holidaymakers are 3x more likely to secure their first campsite choice.”

Get in quick before the crowds, heat and mozzies

Justin Hales, CEO and Founder of Camplify explains why late Spring is an ideal time for Aussies to hit the road: “After such a turbulent year, it’s no surprise so many Aussies are seeking a well-deserved break. Whether it’s a weekend trip to your local caravan park, or a mid-week road trip adventure, holidaying in November offers a great and affordable option for escaping the crowds, heat and mozzies!”

Considered bringing your WFH office to the campsite? Both Camplify and NRMA Parks & Resort have witnessed an increase in demand for midweek bookings, with Aussies choosing to work from the road (WFV).

NRMA Parks & Resorts General Manager Customer, Sales and Marketing Janelle Boyd said that as work habits changed for Australians, weekend as well as midweek bookings were on the rise across the brand’s collection of 32 holiday parks.

“Many Australians have been working from home over the past six or seven months due to the Coronavirus pandemic, and many have readily adapted to a more flexible way of working,” Mrs Boyd said.

“More and more we’re seeing couples, friends and families taking road trips and arriving at the parks with laptops ready to work in some of the country’s incredible natural destinations. They can make the most of free WiFi and perhaps take a lunchtime break for a surf or a hike,” she said.

“For families, parents can work while keeping an eye on their kids as they ride bikes and go karts or have fun in the parks’ pools and waterparks and then hit the beach or have an early barbecue dinner together.”
